Alan Lau invited his Seattle based artist friends to do a portrait of him for a birthday celebration. The artworks were sold and the proceeds were donated to The International Examiner, the only non-profit Pan-Asian American Media in the country. Some of the contributing artists were Martia Dingus, Patti Warashina, Roger Shimomura, Saya Moriyasu, Diem Chau and Randy Hayes
